Pheasant: Flo

This - not so little - girl has lost the majority of her tail feathers! We are pretty sure she has come into contact with a vehicle as she found

laying by the side of a road. She is quite calm at the moment which is unusual for Pheasants but hopefully she will perk up fairly soon.

We have started her on some antibiotics as she has a few cuts and grazes on her body. She is also having lots of nutrients added to her diet to make sure her feathers grow back as quickly as possible.

After a week, Flo began to get a lot feistier so we moved her to one of the outside runs to let her stretch her legs whilst her feathers were still growing - she is still very inquisitive!

OUTCOME:

Flo was moved to another site where they have larger outdoor runs where she is able to be released from. They have lots of wild pheasants already living in the fields the run is located in - so she will have lots of friends to join when she is ready!
